A real adventure
Okay, so this is pretty crazy! But if it's adventure you want then it couldn't be much better than this!

Although only 'discovered' by a french surfer in 2010, "the Bono" has been in existence for thousands of years. Obviously the locals have known about it and called it the Seven Ghosts for probably ominous reasons. At Galang Anchorage we have key members of staff that have grown up in the immediate area and can tell us just how strange the tide is here.

But it doesn't get much stranger than this. When the sea level rises higher than the level in the river, you have Bono... Enjoy
The greatest adventure
Currently getting to Sungei Kampar is a rather involved process.

Starting from Singapore would require just about a whole day to get to the site either flying to Medan then Palembang and on by bus. Or, a fast ferry from Harbourfront Singapore to Sekupang, Batam Island then take a speedboat from Sekupang to Tanjung Batu, Kundur island and then take the daily speedboat from Tanjung Batu to Teluk Meranti then final site.
OR... What we have in mind is an overnight passage from Galang Anchorage to Sungei Kampar. Then a few days of surfing before returning to base. Partial adventure, partial save some time while being altogether more relaxing.
