Nipah Island Resort
Ten islands in three hours
Exactly how many islands there are in the entire Indonesian chain is unknown but to give you an idea of how tightly packed they are... You can take a diner cruise from Nipah Island Resort, spot the largest of the Barelang bridges and take in 10 islands in 3 hours!
The Resort just recently (February 2017) had a soft opening and no doubt they will be adding more facilities as time goes by. Tweleve cottage style rooms are fringed by a nice garden area and overlook the bay that has more islands scattered around it.

One thing for sure the Resort is as 'five-star' as you can find in Barelang.
Sure the hotels in Nagoya and Batam Center offer full facilities but the Nipah Island Resort is the biggest once you cross over th efirst of the bridges on your way south.

Many of the cycling groups exercising on the 70 km stretch, use the Resort as the start and finish point. This is particularly important for the lady-cyclists as this is the last nice-toilet stop for the next 50km's.

The rooms are clean and comfortable with a nice view facing north.
During the windy season, a strong northeast Monsoon blows striaght in the balcony doors. Just ask for a higher level so that you can get the best of the air.

There's a large man-made swimming lagoon right in front of the Resort. This will save you from swimming in the bay where there are some really trecherous currents.

The swimming lagoon is big enough, we've seen the resorts 3 Jet Ski's in it!
